Raider Melancholy

The Silver and Black got wiped all over the field at McAffee last weekend. Though they have fallen to 1 -2 this preseason, I have high hopes for the Raiders this year.

Russell looks like he's struggling, but Kiffin will open up the playbook more with time, giving the young quarterback a chance to show off his improvisational skills. The receivers performance will follow.

The McFadden-Bush tandem should lead the division in rushing, and the defense looks solid. Our wildcards are special teams and offenseive line.

My prediction is 8 - 8. The division in markedly weaker, and we play the NFC south. Eight wins represents high hopes, but it's definitely not a stretch.

Division winners:
AFC North- Steelers
AFC East- Patriots
AFC West- Chargers
AFC South- Jaguars

NFC North- Lions
NFC East- Eagles
NFC West- Cardinals
NFC South- Saints

Other predictions:
The Giants won't make the playoffs
The Patriots won't make the Superbowl
The AFC Champs will come out of the South

Go ahead...argue with me.

My argument against your predictions are as follows: The Colts are not ready to lose their AFC South supremecy yet. They have Top 5 players at QB, RB, WR and TE with a defense that proved itself over the past two seasons. They will remain atop of that division.

There is no way the up and down Eagles will finish ahead of the mighty Cowgirls...unless Romo's girlfriend comes to every game of the season. If that happens, Romo is a lock to break the single season interceptions thrown record. Prediction: the Philly fans will boo their team to a close second-place finish in the division.

And is it possible to not pick anyone out of the NFC West? Arizona will be flip-flopping immobile QBs all season, the Rams should continue to be the subparrest show on turf and the Niners and Seahawks are doing all they can to finish under .500 for the season. I give the Seahawks the edge because they have a proven coach and a deafening home field advantage.

My Bold prediction: Cowgirls will win the Bupersowl...not because of Romo or TO, but because of MBIII. Look for him to add another acronym to his name: MVP.

Not bad analysis...though I thought that the Cowboys overachieved and got away from some close scrapes during the regular season. The team that lost in the playoffs is the team we'll see this year; maybe 10-6, but probably 9-7. It's going to be a tought division.

Philly, on the other hand, almost made the playoffs last year, they were a couple of plays away from going 10-6.

The Colts will go to the AFC title game, but as a wildcard. They are older and less healthy, but better when it will count.

The Rick should be an ESPN analyst. Whether on ESPN Radio, ESPNews or Sportscenter, I think that nearly every NFL analyst chose Jacksonville to win the division. With Jeff Saturday's injury, that may certainly come to pass. But don't be surprised if J-ville loses this weekend.
